autopom! vs Endurance: Broker or Direct Provider? Compared for 2026

Endurance sells and administers its own direct plans, handling claims entirely in-house. autopom! compares options across five separate administrators and provides independent customer advocacy during claim reviews.

autopom! vs Endurance

autopom! and Endurance both help drivers cover repair costs once a factory warranty ends, and both offer coverage in California. The difference is structural. Endurance Dealer Services, LLC serves as both administrator and obligor on Endurance’s core sample contracts, and Endurance states that it directly administers most, but not all, of the plans it markets. autopom! is an independent broker, founded in 2010, that compares plans across several established administrator programs. Because autopom! does not administer the contract itself, it can advocate separately with the administrator when a claim is questioned or needs clarification. One model is more integrated. The other puts a second party in the room when it matters. Broker or Direct Provider: What Actually Changes

Endurance sells the contract, administers it, and authorises repairs for most of its plans. Nothing has to be coordinated between two companies, which is simpler for a straightforward claim.

autopom! works the other way. It compares contracts from five separate administrator programs and stays involved afterwards. Because autopom! does not make the administrator’s coverage decision, it can advocate separately on the customer’s behalf when a claim is questioned or needs clarification.

Neither structure is inherently better. They fail differently, and the difference is most visible when a claim does not go smoothly.

Two True Month to Month Programs

autopom! now offers true month to month coverage through two administrator programs CAPS and Aegis, allowing a shopper to compare different coverage structures, benefits, limits and price points rather than a single option.

On our test Honda Accord, Aegis Total Assure applied, at $183.36 initial and $91.68 per month, including Bonus Coverage, Luxury Electronics and Market Labor Rate at no additional cost. On our test Ford F-150, Aegis Mileage Max applied once mileage passed 150,000, at $211.06 initial and $105.53 per month. Neither CAPS nor Aegis offered a month-to-month option for our test Toyota RAV4.

As with CAPS, Aegis coverage tier is set by the vehicle’s mileage at the time of breakdown rather than at purchase.

Both Cover California, But Not Identically

California regulates this category differently. Drivers there buy mechanical breakdown insurance rather than a vehicle service contract, and only a licensed insurance producer can sell it. Both autopom! and Endurance meet that requirement.

Endurance’s current disclosures name two different licensed administrators for its California product depending on which page you read Endurance Warranty Insurance Services (CA Licence 6009544) and Marathon Administrative Company (CA Licence 0D60748). Both hold active California licences. If you buy in California, confirm which administrator handles your specific contract before you sign, since that determines who authorises your repairs.

Endurance also publishes that its Elite Benefits package is not available in California, where coverage is sold as mechanical breakdown insurance instead, and that Endurance does not sell direct-to-consumer plans in Massachusetts at all. Massachusetts residents can only access Endurance-administered coverage through a participating dealership. autopom! coverage is available in Massachusetts, subject to vehicle and program eligibility.

Where Endurance Is the Stronger Choice
Endurance publishes no maximum mileage limit on certain plans, and offers a single-company claims process with no coordination between a seller and a separate administrator.
Endurance also offers maintenance coverage on some plans, covering routine services that most vehicle service contracts exclude entirely.

If you’re also considering a direct marketer rather than an integrated administrator, our comparison of autopom! and CarShield looks at that structure specifically.

Cost Comparison

Vehicleautopom! totalEndurance totalEndurance totalEnd./yr
2020 RAV4$3,840 (5yr/101k mi)$3,770 (4yr/42k mi)$768$942
2017 Accord$5,878 (5yr/60k mi)$3,596 (4yr/48k mi)$1,176$899
2013 F-150$4,644 (5yr/100k mi)$4,321 (4yr/48k mi)$929$1,080

Endurance had the lower promotional price on the Accord, while the BeeCovered option provided a longer term and broader coverage structure. The two are not equivalent plans, so price alone does not tell the full story. On the RAV4 and F-150, autopom! held the lower cost even after normalizing for term and mileage. Endurance quoted the lower total in each case, and those quotes covered less time and fewer miles than the autopom! options shown.

What to Check Before Choosing Either

  • The sample contract, not the sales summary: exclusions, deductible, waiting period, limit of liability

  • Who administers the contract, and who authorises repairs
  • What happens if a claim is declined, and who you appeal to
  • Whether your preferred repair facility is accepted
  • Cancellation and transfer terms
  • Total contract cost, not only the monthly figure

Yes, through CAPS and Aegis. Endurance’s plans are fixed-term with installment schedules rather than true month-to-month

With Endurance, you appeal directly to Endurance as both seller and administrator. With autopom!, autopom! can advocate separately with the administrator on your behalf.
If you want a single company handling everything from sale to claim, or you drive a high-mileage vehicle that other providers will not quote, Endurance is worth a call. If you would rather compare contracts across several administrators, have someone independent to speak to if a claim is questioned, or choose from fixed-term coverage with a defined total cost as well as true month to month options, autopom! may be the more practical fit. Whichever you choose, read the sample contract rather than the sales summary, and check who administers it, what the deductible is, and what the aggregate limit covers.

Important Disclosure: autopom! is an independent broker, not a manufacturer, warranty provider, claims administrator, or claims decision-maker. Third-party plans are typically vehicle service contracts, not manufacturer warranties. Coverage, exclusions, deductibles, waiting periods, maintenance requirements, limits of liability, cancellation terms, and claims handling vary by plan, administrator, vehicle, mileage, location, and contract terms.
